This policy explains what information Cohost™ collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and what control you have over your data. We try to keep things short and human-readable. If you'd rather not deal with the details, the short version is: we collect the minimum we need to run the service, we don't sell your data to anyone, and you can ask us to delete it any time.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you give us directly
- Email address — when you join the waitlist, we store your email so we can email you when access opens.
- Account credentials — once Cohost launches, account info you set up (username, etc.) is stored to operate your account.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Page visits — we log pages visited on cohost.live, including the URL, the referrer (the site that sent you here), the country (derived from your IP via Cloudflare's geolocation, the IP itself is not stored), and your browser's user-agent string. This is used to understand traffic patterns; we don't track you across other sites.
- Cookies — we set one cookie, only for admin access to our internal dashboard. Regular site visitors don't receive cookies from us.
1.3 Information from the Cohost streaming app (alpha — not yet collecting)
Once the streaming application is in your hands, the AI cohost feature processes your chat messages to classify them. Message text is sent to our hosted classifier; we don't store it after classification. Voice transcription is processed locally on your machine via Whisper — it never leaves your device.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To send you waitlist updates and an invite when access opens
- To understand which marketing channels are working (top referrers, country of visitors)
- To operate the streaming app — encoding, broadcasting to your chosen platforms, AI cohost processing
- To respond to support requests when you contact us
- To prevent abuse and protect the service
3. Who We Share Information With
We use the following third-party services to run Cohost. Each receives only the data needed to do their job:
- Cloudflare — hosts the website and database. Receives all visitor traffic and stores waitlist signups. Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Resend — sends transactional email (waitlist confirmations). Receives your email address and the email content. Resend's privacy policy.
- NVIDIA — provides the AI model for chat classification. Receives chat message text only — never your viewers' personal data. NVIDIA's privacy policy.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone for marketing purposes. Ever.
4. How Long We Keep It
- Waitlist emails: Until you ask us to delete them, or until we shut down the service.
- Visit logs: 90 days, then aggregated and the raw rows deleted.
- Email content: Stored by Resend for 7 days for delivery troubleshooting.
5. Your Rights
Wherever you live, you have the right to:
- Access — ask what data we have on you
- Delete — ask us to remove your data from our systems
- Correct — fix any inaccurate data
- Object — opt out of any data processing you don't agree with
- Portability — receive a copy of your data
To exercise any of these rights, message us at @CohostLive. We'll respond within 30 days.
If you're in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you also have GDPR rights. If you're in California, you have CCPA rights. Both are covered by the rights listed above — different label, same protection.
6. Children's Privacy
Cohost is not intended for users under 13. If we learn we've collected information from a child under 13, we'll delete it. If you believe a child has provided us information, please reach out and we'll handle it.
7. Security
We use HTTPS for all traffic, store data on Cloudflare's infrastructure, and limit access to production systems to the founder. No system is perfectly secure — if a breach happens, we'll notify affected users within 72 hours where required by law.
8. International Data Transfers
Cloudflare and Resend operate globally. Your data may be processed in countries outside your home country. We rely on standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards where required.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you via email (if you're on the waitlist) and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
